The Nervous System and Health
Our entire body is controlled by the Nervous system. It controls everything including: movements to digestion to heart rate.
Because the Brain controls the entire Body through the Nervous System, a spinal misalignment will cause interference in the communication from the Brain to the Body. When a misalignment occurs, the Nervous System functions less efficiently; thus, the proper function of every cell, organ and system in the body is affected.
The most significant bones in the body are the first two in your neck. If a misalignment occurs here, at where the head meets the neck, nerve irritation and interference occurs. Upper Cervical Specific Chiropractic care seeks to correct this misalignment; thus, allowing the healing messages to flow again from the Brain to the Body. This correction allows the body to start healing and functioning properly and efficiently.

Why I'm Different
The International Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association (IUCCA) upper cervical specific protocol requires the use of technologically advanced Laser-aligned radiography and Computerized Infrared Paraspinal Thermography. These tools are used to assess the exact amount and type of misalignment in the first two bones of neck (C1-Atlas and C2- Axis) and to formulate a precise correction formula.
Laser-aligned Radiography
Unique to Upper Cervical Specific Chiropractic, laser-aligned radiography allows for the most accurate and precise x-rays taken today. The precise x-rays are used to determine the exact three-dimensional misalignment and to formulate a personalized correction formula. X-rays are taken only when clinically necessary for patient care.
Computerized Infrared Paraspinal Thermography
Thermography is a neurodiagnostic procedure, approved by the FDA, to assess the function of the Nervous System. It is a pain-less and non-invasive instrument used to scan both sides of the patient's neck to determine if a dysfunction of the Nervous System is present. If a dysfunction of the Nervous System is noted, an adjustment will be given. This procedure will be done at every visit to assess the Nervous System and to objectively evaluate patient care.
Specific Three-Dimensional Adjustment
A precise Three-Dimensional Adjustment will be given if a dysfunction of the Nervous System is present. The adjustment will be given at the Upper Cervical Spine to restore Nervous System function. After the adjustment, the patient will be allowed to rest for a post-adjustment recuperation. After the rest, the thermographic procedure will be done again to assess the correction of the Upper Cervical Spine. An adjustment will not be given at every visit, only when a dysfunction of the Nervous System is present.

During his internship, he underwent over 200 hours of post-graduate advanced training in Upper Cervical Specific Chiropractic from the Internationl Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association (IUCCA). He is currently one of approximately 1,200 Chiropractors in the world specilizing in Upper Cervical Specific Chiropractic.
Dr. Ricky has served on a Chiropractic mission trip to El Salvador, where he adjusted people of all ages from infants to elderly and spread the Chiropractic message.
